Our Mission
At Lifegate Acupuncture, our mission is to create a healing environment where patients feel comfortable, relaxed and serene. This environment will promote the patient’s well-being and participation in their own healing process. Our goal is for our patients to receive the most compassionate and excellence of care available to improve their overall health, vitality and quality of life. We will provide custom individualized treatments with full attention and accommodation to each patient. The treatments will include a wide range of modalities within holistic medicine to heal the root cause of disease, relieve symptoms and restore balance.
Our Fertility Story
“We were told we had ‘unexplained infertility’ —but the truth was, there was an answer all along.”
For nearly six years, my wife, Yumiko, and I endured the rollercoaster of infertility—the endless doctor visits, invasive tests, expensive medications, and procedures that promised hope but left us exhausted and broken.
We tried everything. Surgery. Medications. Assisted reproductive techniques. And after all that poking, prodding, and heartbreak, the top specialists in the field of reproductive medicine could only give us one diagnosis: “Unexplained infertility.“
No answers. No solutions. Just a devastating shrug from modern medicine. Meanwhile, Yumi’s body was suffering.
The results were inconclusive, and we were right back where we started—confused, frustrated, and without a path forward.
Still determined, we moved on to IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) as our next option. But things only got worse.
The very treatment that was supposed to bring us life was nearly taking hers.
That was our breaking point. We had to ask ourselves: If this is what it takes to conceive… is it worth it?
Western medicine was chasing numbers hormones, follicle counts, bloodwork—but no one was looking at the bigger picture. No one was asking, why is her body reacting this way? What is it trying to tell us?
The Turning Point
One day, we attended a local infertility support group meeting. A speaker was presenting on how Traditional Chinese Medicine could restore fertility naturally.
We were skeptical. We were drained. But we had nothing left to lose and were hopeful again. So we gave it a shot.
Over the next six months, Yumi received acupuncture, nutritional therapy, and holistic treatments designed to bring her body back into balance.
And then… She conceived.
Naturally. Effortlessly. Without medications.
She had a smooth, easy pregnancy. And today, our beautiful son is living proof of what’s possible when you stop fighting your body—and start working with it.

What is the meaning of Life Gate?
Life Gate (or Ming Men), in Chinese Medicine, is the source of our Original Qi or life energy and where Essence is stored. It provides the energy needed for all the body’s functional activities. Since it is the basis of Kidney Qi and associated with Kidney Essence it is closely related to all the Kidney’s functional activities which include physical constitution, reproduction, physical and sexual development, conception, pregnancy, menopause and aging. The ancient Chinese Taoists dedicated their lives to the cultivation and preservation of this Treasure.
